We've Got the Power!

Nov 19, 2009

Did You Know? Recent research in quantum physics proves without a doubt that science and spirituality are intimately connected? It is compelling and very exciting. I like to say it this way: science is finally catching up to scripture. In fact, that is the whole basis of my blog, which I titled, “Father Really Does Know Best.” While that was a play on the name of an old television show, I have always felt that the scriptures hold the key to EVERYTHING! I am fascinated by how God's principles of health and wholeness are daily being recognized and proven scientifically. John G. Lake, a missionary, faith healer and mighty man of God, has said, "Science is God's way of doing things" and I wholeheartedly agree! Gregg Braden, scientist and author has said, “When we study chemistry and physics, we are learning about the nuts and bolts of how God works in the world.”

Science is the natural progression, the outgrowth of understanding the "how" behind the "what" of God's Word. Only now do we have sophisticated enough equipment to reveal and understand these magnificent mysteries. Our God is most definitely a God of order. He sets principles and laws in motion concerning not just our spirits, souls and bodies, but our physical world as well. He is concerned with wholeness, the root meaning of the Hebrew word, shalom, in every area of our lives.

Physicists are now studying a field of energy that they describe as being different from any other, that appears to be everywhere, always; to have existed since the beginning of time and has a conscious and intelligent mind behind it. (Does that description sound familiar?) This energy field has been called by different names such as “the field,” “the matrix” and “the mind of God.” I have to tell you as I read that description there was no doubt in my mind that it describes God. It is the definition of His omnipresence and omnipotence. There are astounding experiments about what is referred to as the “newly discovered” web of energy that surrounds and occupies all of us!

Consider John1:1-4 NIV: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

Hebrews 1:3 Amp.: He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the [a]out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.

Colossians 1:17 Amp.: And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). These scriptures clearly show Who the unifying force behind all life is! We, as believers already know this. I find it so exciting to see it being proven scientifically as well.

Our entire world consists of electromagnetic fields of information. According to the laws of physics, if you want to change atoms of physical matter, you must either change the electric or magnetic field. Research shows that while the heart and brain each generate both electrical and magnetic fields, the electrical field of the heart is 100 times stronger than that of the brain and its magnetic field is 5,000 times stronger! Makes you think about this scripture in an entirely new way: “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 Amp.)

So what does this mean for health? I’ve talked in previous newsletters about the power of our thoughts and words and how critical it is to monitor them and replace negative ones with positive ones like love, gratitude and joy. Well an experiment was done by the Institute of HeartMath using human placental DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given to 28 researchers. These people were trained in how to generate and feel strong, specific emotions on demand.

When researchers felt love, gratitude and joy, the response of that DNA was to relax – its strands unwound and actually lengthened. When the researchers felt fear, anger, frustration or stress, the DNA got tight, shortened and even switched off many of its codes. When the researchers felt love, joy and gratitude once more, those codes switched back on and the strands relaxed!

Even more astounding, the same experiment was conducted with HIV-positive patients. When feelings of gratitude, joy and love were activated, those patients became 300,000 more resistant to the virus than they were when they were not feeling those positive emotions!

The way science explains this process: Our thoughts, emotions and beliefs are a nonverbal language that can cause healing in our bodies. The key is to feel the feeling in a very precise, specific way – as if the outcome of your heart’s desire has already happened. This activates a response in your body where the chemistry then matches the feeling. Your thought-emotion-belief must clearly and concisely identify what the outcome is. Again, doesn’t this sound familiar?

“Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].” (Mark 11:23-24 Amp.); “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure” (Isaiah 46:10 KJV) and “…Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the non-existent things that (He has foretold and promised) as if they (already) existed.” (Romans 4:17 Amp.)

How can we use this information to make our prayers even more powerful and live vibrantly healthy lives? I’m glad you asked!

In this holiday season we are even more aware of those around us who may be struggling financially. While our prayers for them are powerful as we have seen, faith without action is dead, so I want to share this website. If there is someone you know who is struggling and you would like to help them financially without making them feel uncomfortable as some people do – or if you just want to bless them anonymously, just click the link above and follow the directions. Give Anonymously is a non-profit organization that allows you to do just that.

Some of you may be familiar with Annette Capps’ booklet and teaching Quantum Faith. There is so much to this teaching – if you’ve never read or heard it, I heartily encourage you to do so by visiting http://www.annettecapps.com. I believe it will begin to revolutionize how you see the role of true bible faith and prayer in your life.

Another book that also speaks of this power in our praying, believing and the role of emotions is “The Fourth Dimension” by Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho, which is available through Amazon. Dr. Cho is the pastor of the largest full gospel church in Korea and a mighty man of God. The book details his journey of faith from Buddhism to Christianity. He explains how he learned to pray beginning with being healed from advanced, terminal tuberculosis, sharing many of his experiences of answered prayer. His description of the process matches exactly what science is only now learning. I strongly recommend both books.

This excerpt from the daily devotional I receive from Aletha Hinthorn, is one more confirmation: “The world is seldom aware of the impact of women's prayers: ‘Women receive their dead raised to life’ (Hebrews 11:35). Surely it's significant that the recorded raisings from the dead are predominantly for women. A WOMAN’S STRONG NATURAL AFFECTION ADDED TO HER FAITH PRODUCES SUPERNATURAL RESULTS. She receives her dead raised to life!”

We have so much more power than we have ever realized! But God created us in His image – how could it be any different? When we pray based on the Word of God, sincerely from our (very powerful!) hearts; visualizing with our holy imaginations the end result we desire and accessing our emotions; and then thank God believing, acting and feeling as if it is already accomplished, amazing things happen. They have no choice! We have the power to change the very chemistry and condition of our bodies as well as the “things” in our lives.

We have only begun to scratch the surface of understanding the power and energy we possess as children of God. As I learn more about this exciting research, I will share it with you, my valued subscribers. In the meantime, pray in faith and confidence that your “effectual, fervent prayers have great power, dynamic in its working!” (James 5:16)

Until next week, I wish you abundant, overflowing health, peace and joy and I call you BLESSED!
