The Bottom Line

Jan 28, 2010

Did you know? According to a recent report, obesity costs the United States approximately 2.1 BILLION dollars each year! As our population ages, treating the health needs of an overweight or obese person will cost Medicare anywhere from 6-17% more over the course of their lifetime – approximately an additional $15-26,000 per person. Obesity is expensive in more ways than one! Obesity is responsible for at least 300,000 deaths each year in our country. Here is a list of 20 diseases and conditions that can be directly attributed to being overweight:

Diabetes – Cancer – Congestive heart failure – Enlarged heart – Pulmonary embolism – Polycystic ovarian syndrome – Reflux disease – Fatty liver disease – Hernia – Erectile dysfunction – Urinary incontinence – Chronic renal failure – Lymph edema – Cellulitis – Stroke – Depression – Osteoarthritis – Gout – Gallbladder disease – Sleep apnea

This is a very serious subject and most of the people I speak with and clients I work with express the desire/need to lose weight regardless of what other health concerns they may have. This is why I am offering my “Today’s the Day” 7-Week Fitness Plan. I originally developed it for myself and my own family. We have each had our own issues and struggles in this area. My oldest son, Chris, successfully lost 50 lbs. and has maintained that weight loss for 3 years now. Several years ago, I noticed my weight increasing despite the fact that I ate healthfully and exercised 5 days a week. That’s when I delved into researching different diet plans. Over a period of several years and through a process of careful research and personal experience, I developed this plan, which I live by every day. (By the way, I was able to trim the excess 15 lbs. and have maintained my normal weight over the course of 10 years.)

I began this newsletter by pointing out how expensive this condition is. In these difficult economic times, none of us wants to waste our money. I am very sensitive to that and believe we are called to be wise and careful stewards of all our resources – including our money and our health. Perhaps you are wondering how my plan stacks up against some of the other popular plans out there. Let me give you some comparisons as reported on Money Watch:

"Today's the Day" 7-Week Fitness Plan E-Book
You can download this version almost immediately and begin the plan yourself. But you’re not left totally on your own! If you have any questions or need help, I am just an email away!

“Today’s the Day” 7-Week Fitness Coaching Plan
This is the full coaching plan. You will receive the plan week by week. I will also be sending you daily, personal coaching emails to encourage, educate and support your efforts every step of the way. You will also have unlimited email access to me for any additional help you need.

Weight Watchers costs $39.95 per month or $65 for 3 months if you use the online option only. The estimated cost to lose 20 lbs. is between $120 and $200. If you choose a plan that includes food, like Jenny Craig, the cost is $20 for ten weeks or $359 for a one-year premium membership, PLUS $84 to $126 for food. Losing 20 lbs. on Jenny Craig could run you between $1,070 and $2,020. Another popular diet plan you see on TV all the time is Nutrisystem. Their standard plan is $333 for 4 weeks plus $20 shipping. Dropping 20 lbs. would lighten your wallet by $706.

My “Today’s the Day” 7-Week Fitness Plan e-book has a one-time cost of $39.95 and it includes email access to me for any questions you may have.

The coaching Plan over the 7-weeks is very affordable and cost effective at $50.00 PER WEEK or $350 over the course of 7-weeks. **However, I am offering it at $175 – that’s half-price and only $25 per week for personal coaching!** Even a personal trainer at a gym charges at least that much PER HOUR. Obesity, which is defined as being at least 30 lbs. overweight, has reached epidemic proportions in our country. I believe everyone is worth the time, money and effort to get healthier. That is why I have made my plan affordable for just about anyone who sincerely desires to lose weight.

Also, I am continually researching, reading and learning. Anyone who signs up for the e-book or the coaching plan will receive the benefit of any new information I receive. I will share whatever I learn - even 3 years from now, with you. This subject is not static - research and studies uncover new information daily - and I want you to have continual access to the best, most accurate, cutting edge information available.

The only thing left is to make a “quality decision,” as Kenneth Copeland says and just do what needs to be done. You can actually reverse many of the serious health conditions above simply by losing the excess weight. Ask yourself how it would feel to finally be fit, at your healthiest weight and able to maintain it. It IS doable - but you have to make a commitment to actually DO something. Even faith without works is dead.

So, here’s the bottom line: What are you willing to do?

Until next week, as always, I wish you abundant, overflowing health, peace and joy and I call you BLESSED (empowered to prosper and succeed).
